About Us

The Mission Statement of the Pleasants Learning Academy is to “provide meaningful training to deserving employees of the Pleasants Organization”.

The History of the Pleasants Learning Academy (PLA)

Since inception during 2017, the PLA has taught over 1,100 classes to over 500 employees of the Pleasants Organization. The PLA has conducted sessions in our Maryland facilities located Clarksburg, Frederick and Capital Heights. The PLA has also conducted classes in our Virginia facilities located in Manassas and Saltville.

From a humble beginning in 2017, the PLA now offers 50 individual courses, 42 virtual courses, 40 PowerPoint courses, 14 Short Takes courses & 6 curriculums. On average, the PLA conducts over 20 sessions per month for deserving employees of the Pleasants Organization.

All PLA instructors are certified and are active employees within the Pleasants Organization. All materials are created in-house and have been designed solely for the use by employees within the Pleasants Organization. What makes the PLA unique is our courses and materials are designed and administered based on what we have actually learned during the 60 years the Pleasants Organization has been in business.
