Onboarding Orientations Conducted By The Pleasants Learning Academy (PLA)

The PLA conducts at least one Onboarding Orientation per month.  All newly hired employees are required to attend an Onboarding Orientation within 45 days from the date they started employment at the company.

Onboarding Orientations are conducted so newly hired employees have an opportunity to ask questions about the Employee Handbook and the Employee Benefits Guide they received.  In addition, newly hired employees are provided with details for how to enroll for benefits and a suggested timeframe for doing so.  Enrolling for benefits in a timely fashion is important.

Onboarding Orientations are always conducted at our Capitol Heights, Clarksburg & Frederick locations on Thursday of each month at 3:00PM. Today, all Onboarding Orientations are being performed live and in a classroom setting. In the future, when it’s safe to do classroom meetings, the PLA may conduct Zoom and classroom sessions. 

Our Onboarding Orientation will last for approximately one hour.  The PLA instructor will spend the bulk of this time discussing employee benefits, PTO, policies of the company and answering questions that newly hired employees may ask.  In addition, our PLA instructor will be available after each Onboarding Orientation to answer questions that the newly hired employee may not wish to ask in a public setting.

In closing, the PLA has provided over 200 Onboarding Orientations to newly hired employees since 2018.  To date, the PLA has provided Onboarding Orientations to over 800 employees.
